Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Willian Borges in the summer.

The 31-year-old winger has played 33 games for the Blues across all tournaments so far netting five goals with as many assists to his name. Jose Mourinho wants to strengthen the front-liner during the summer transfer window.

The Portuguese tactician is interested in reuniting with Willian in North London and Spurs could also make a move for him in the summer.

This report also claims that Borges wants a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge, but the club is willing to offer him two. Brazil international is a crucial figure for the Blues.

The Brazilian forward has been an essential footballer for Blues since joining them from Shakhtar Donetsk, scoring 57 goals while providing 58 assists in 325 games across all tournaments so far. His current deal expires next summer, and he’s yet to sign a new one. Willian is a regular member of the national team and also won the Copa America.

Chelsea currently have the likes of Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and later, Hakim Ziyech as their options in the forward department, Hence, there’s a good opportunity Willian may not be much of a regular for the next campaign. Tottenham have terrible consequences in the Premier League as they are in sixth place in the table.

Spurs could do with an experienced winger like Willian although it may not be very easy for him to be a frequent first-team footballer under Jose Mourinho. Tottenham signed Gedson Fernandes from Benfica and Steven Bergwijn from PSV during the winter transfer window.
