Done Deal? As Leandro Paredes retweets ‘Welcome to Chelsea’ to make Stamford Bridge move

Is Leandro Paredes already a Chelsea player?

Leandro Paredes appears to have hinted at a January move to Chelsea by retweeting a ‘Welcome to Chelsea’ video on social media website Twitter.

Paredes, the midfielder, has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge following the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Monaco.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri wants to bring in a new midfielder to cover for the loss of the Spaniard, and Paredes is on the club’s shortlist alongside Nicolo Barella, the Cagliari and Italy star.

A deal for Paredes is believed to be the more likely as Cagliari are unwilling to cash in on their prized asset midway through a season, and the player himself appears to have hinted he will join the Blues.

Paredes, who currently represents Zenit Saint Petersburg, retweeted a ‘Welcome to Chelsea’ video which was shared when someone responded to the question: ‘Nicolo Barella or Leandro Paredes?’

Should Paredes sign for Chelsea, he could be joined at Stamford Bridge by Argentina team-mate Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain has made it clear he wants to leave Milan amid interest in the forward from Chelsea, with the Blues exploring the possibility of signing the 31-year-old from Juventus, his parent club.
