Defender on his way to Stamford Bridge after Chelsea agree another summer deal

According to the Athletic, Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Ishe Samuels-Smith from Everton for a fee close to £4million.

The 17-year-old defender has agreed a three-year deal with Chelsea.

The teenager has been at Everton throughout his young career so far, rising through the ranks to represent the club at Under-18 and Under-21 level.

He has also represented England at Under-15, Under-16, and Under-17 level, and was the only Englishman named in the UEFA team of the tournament at the UEFA under-17 European Championships earlier this summer.

WILL HE BE A GOOD SIGNING FOR THE CLUB –

Samuels-Smith is a very talented defender there is no doubt about that – but signing all these youngsters in hope that they can become big time players is not the right way to go.

The stars that have been leaving Stamford Bridge over the past few weeks are far better than the ones that have been coming to the club.

This may not even be the best move for the defender to make guys – he may never be good enough to make it at the Bridge and could just get lost in the system.

However – it is still a massive move for the lad to make and we could be wrong – he may be a brilliant signing for the Blues
