“Don’t rule Chelsea out” – Journalist confirms Chelsea still in race to sign 509-goal attacker
According to Jan Aage Fjortoft, Chelsea could join Barcelona in the race to capture Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski.
If the Blues are seeking for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, the former Middlesbrough striker turned journalist feels the Blues may be a contender for the Polish legend’s signature:
Lewandowski has indicated that he will not be renewing his contract with Bayern, and his current term expires at the end of next season, so he might be moved during the summer transfer window.
Barcelona, though, remains the favorite to sign the forward, with transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claiming that the La Liga club is putting in a lot of effort to sign the 33-year-old.
If Chelsea were to sign Lewandowski, who has 509 goals in his senior career, it would be a significant statement, but a lot will depend on the new owners and how they formulate the club’s recruitment plan.
Re: Lewandowski
Barcelona the favorite
Don’t rule out Chelsea though…
Could be an outsider in this deal. Assume they can definitely can sign players…and the “Lukaku-situation” moving …
