Dressing room ‘leak’ as Pochettino ‘frustrated’ with two Chelsea star after what happened in the dressing room

After a dismal season, Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly annoyed with two Chelsea players.

Following his lavish summer transfer window acquisitions of players such as Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson, and Cole Palmer, it was anticipated that Pochettino would guide Chelsea back to the top of the Premier League.

The Blues’ 23–24 campaign has been a major letdown, though, as they are in ninth in the league standings, sixteen points behind fifth-place Aston Villa and a massive 27 points behind leaders Arsenal.

It is now being said that two of their players have not impressed Pochettino or his coaches.

As reported by Football Insider, sources have told the publication that the Chelsea coaching staff are frustrated with a lack of impact from wingers Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling.

Ukrainian winger Mudryk has only managed to record six goals and three assists in 33 appearances this season, which is less than expected after his £88 million move to the club in 2023.

In terms of Sterling, the England international has made 38 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea during the 23/24 campaign, managing eight goals and eight assists.

It has also been reported that as a result, Chelsea will be in the market for a new winger when the summer transfer window opens.

Over the last few weeks, Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams has been linked with a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking after their 2-2 draw against bottom side Sheffield United, Pochettino said: “It is about being able to compete. For different reasons we are struggling to compete in these type of games [against lesser teams].

“Maybe [it is] because this group is not mature enough to compete in games every three days.”

He added: “It is a new team with profiles in the squad that we are learning,” said the Chelsea boss. “That is why the process to build a team always takes time. It is not a magic thing [clicks fingers].

“When we talk about projects, we talk about three or five years. It is a normal process but we are working to fix this type of problem. When we arrive at the end of the season, we need to analyse the squad to see what we are missing and try to add people with the capacity to provide [solutions for] what we are seeing today.”
