‘Dying?’ – Roman Abramovich finally reacted to terrifying chemical ‘poison’
On Monday, it was reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was poisoned during peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in Kyiv early this month.
However, According to Shaun Walker of the Guardian, Abramovich lost his sight for several hours and had to be treated at a hospital in Turkey.
The Chelsea owner has recovered and was spotted in good health during the Ukrainian–Russian peace talks in Istanbul earlier this week.
According to The New York Times, after the poisoning, Abramovich asked the doctors treating him ‘are we dying?’.
It is unclear who ordered the poisoning. According to the Wall Street Journal, ‘hardliners’ in Kremlin were behind this act as they tried to stop the peace negotiations.
More so, it is still not proven that deliberate chemical poisoning caused Abramovich’s symptoms.
Bellingcat investigator Christo Grozev, who was part of the team that concluded the Kremlin had poisoned Russian politician Alexei Navalny with a nerve agent in 2020, said he had seen the effects of the poisoning on Abramovich and the other negotiators.
Grozev said: “It was not intended to kill, it was just a warning.”
