Everton boss confirms big injury doubt to key star ahead of Chelsea clash

Everton boss Marco Silva has confirmed that Richarlison is a doubt for the match at Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

The Brazilian has had a decent start to life at Goodison Park after making the switch from Watford in the summer with six goals in nine Premier League games.

The 21-year-old picked up a knock in the win over Brighton last weekend and Silva confirmed in his pre-match press conference this afternoon that the forward has not been training with the rest of the squad yet.

“He did some individual work,” confirmed Silva. “There is a doubt but we will see tomorrow.”

The other injury news from Everton is that Phil Jagielka and James McCarthy should be fit, as is Leighton Baines who had stomach cramps, whereas Jonjoe Kenny remains a doubt.

The Blues will be coming into the game on the back of 11 unbeaten games in the Premier League and with another win in the Europa League having clinched progression to the last 32.

Eden Hazard played just over 60 minutes in BATE Borisov and came through unscathed in the match, so is expected to play on Sunday against the Toffees.
