CHELSEA transfer target Bruno Guimaraes has spoken out for the first time on speculation linking him with a January move to the Premier League.
We have been in the transfer headlines for weeks now after it emerged that Frank Lampard will be able to spend some serious money to help improve his side in key areas of the pitch, and that has led to speculation in the media suggesting that LAMPARD is keen to splash some money in order to land the £34 million signing of Guimaraes, who is rated very highly across Europe.
But now the Brazilian has responded to the transfer links and admitted that there is talks about a possible transfer move away from the club
He told SporTV: ‘What I asked my agents was that the transfer is good for me and for Athletico Paranaense. ‘I know that clubs are in talks… it’s difficult to choose. They are all great teams.’ If we did want him they would surely have made a move by now, but considering they don’t really need him, it would not be a massive loss if they actually missed out on the star.
He is not really the type of signing that we need right now to get things heading in the right direction, they need some statement signings, and we need to back Lampard before the results starting getting good and interest starts to grow in Lampard.
Guimaraes is a bright young talent that clearly has a bright future in the game, but honestly, he is not the player that we need right now. So we are hoping that the club go out and try to sign a player that is more experienced and more established in the game.
Give Guimaraes a few years in the game and then make a move, no need to right now guys.
