Fabrizio Romano confirms new Chelsea deal — ‘Just waiting for him to sign, everything is ready’

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has been an influential player for the club under Thomas Tuchel, but his influence has waned in recent weeks, and Tuchel has confirmed that it’s not unrelated to his contract situation.

However, the 25 years old is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea, and the Dane has been approached by Italian giants AC Milan and also Spanish giants Barcelona over a likely transfer.Christensen had been close to signing a new contract some weeks ago, but changed his mind as he wanted certain terms to be adjusted.

Chelsea and Christensen’s representatives had since been unable to reach an agreement on his latest demand, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that all is now in place for an agreement to be reached.

Meanwhile, Romano announced that the Blues ‘have everything ready’ for Christensen to sign a new contract.

Andreas Christensen has been approached again by Barcelona [free agent, June 2022] and AC Milan [January, to replace Kjaer] but both clubs feel he’ll extend his contract with Chelsea in the next days/weeks 🔵 #CFC

Chelsea have everything ready – just waiting for Andreas to sign.

The young Danish defender is seen as a worthy understudy to veteran defender Thiago Silva, and Christensen has really matured in his performance under Thomas Tuchel. Keeping surely will be a massive boost, as many of Chelsea’s defenders are in the final year of their contracts.
