Finally revealed, why Broja miss out of Chelsea’s 24-man squad for Champions League
This week marks the beginning of the 2022–23 season’s Champions League group stage.
Chelsea’s 24-man roster for the Champions League group stages has been made public.
The members of the squad are:
Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Edouard Mendy, Marcus Bettinelli
Defenders: Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana
Midfielders: Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, Denis Zakaria, Conor Gallagher, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Forwards: Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
However, Chelsea fans must be wondering why striker Armando Broja’s name wasn’t registered on the list.
Broja didn’t have to be registered as he was included in the ‘B-List’, which will allow him to play.
The B list is full of home-grown players that can take part in Champions League games for clubs without having to be in their senior squad.
The Blues will kick off their Champions League campaign this Tuesday evening with a trip to Croatia to take on Dinamo Zagreb.
