FINALLY: What Luis Suarez said about Tammy Abraham one year ago has come to pass
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham impressed last season, especially in the first half of the campaign, and ended up scoring 18 goals in all competitions last term.
Tammy Abraham caught the attention of veteran striker Luis Suarez last season, with the Uruguayan admitting back in November 2019, that he had been monitoring the Chelsea striker.
Suarez hailed the movement of Abraham as one of the things he noticed at the time, which is the main quality Gunners legend Ian Wright gushed about in the win against Newcastle.
“There are many young strikers who are playing very well this season,” Suarez said.
“Personally, I have [a] certain number of young and old strikers that I like watching because of their skills. For example, I like Abraham, Chelsea’s No9. In my opinion, he is an incredible striker with good finishing and who moves incredibly despite his youth.”
Ian Wright was full of praise for Abraham’s movement after the game against the Magpies.
“Some of the movement I saw against Sheffield United wasn’t as great as it was today, as his movement today was fantastic,” Wright said on BBC’s Match of the Day.
“Then obviously at the end, the way he took his goal. What I like about Tammy is the way that he gets on the shoulder, he gets in front of them.
“He needs to attack the back and hit the front. They do make the chances and he just needs to take them.”
