Finally, World class star ‘will accept’ offer to join Chelsea this summer
Frenkie De Jong, a star for Barcelona, is reportedly poised to accept a transfer offer to Chelsea, according to new reports.
De Jong has been a player who has frequently been in the news over the previous six months as all signs pointed to him leaving Barcelona.
Barcelona is allegedly eager to offload De Jong in order to recover some of the money they spent recently on new player acquisitions. This assertion has been made numerous times.
As they attempt to rebuild the team, Barcelona has spent a lot of money on players like Raphinha, Jules Kounde, and Robert Lewandowski; the £60M they may make from the sale of De Jong would go a long way.
Due to Thomas Tuchel’s desire to strengthen his midfield, this has led to shocking media reports that Chelsea FC have made an approach to attempt and obtain the services of De Jong this summer.
Noel Whelan has now spoken out amid all the rumors, saying that De Jong will accept Chelsea’s offer to transfer there. He told Football Insider: “Chelsea are in a much better condition after the takeover.
“You look at Chelsea and Man United – there are a lot more plus points on the Chelsea side. There’s Champions League football, they’ve brought in better players so far this summer.
“It’s a no-brainer for De Jong. Look at the start of this season – why would you choose Man United?
“It’s a new manager, but it’s the same old story for them.
“Players like De Jong, with their stature and ability, deserve to be playing in the Champions League.”
