Forget Kounde – Mason Mount tells Tuchel exciting star ‘is perfect fit’ for Chelsea
Mason Mount has been praising the performance of Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s young defender Levi Colwill and has made a direct appeal to him.
Jules Kounde plays for Sevilla, and it’s no news in the media that Chelsea has been in talks with Sevilla about a possible transfer for months.
However, it has now come to light that he will not be signing with Chelsea FC this summer and would instead choose to join Sevilla’s archrivals Barcelona.
Tuchel will therefore need to make moves for a few more options if he is to address the defensive troubles the team is currently experiencing and may have in the upcoming weeks.
However, Mount has been praising the 19-year-old defender Levi Colwill and believes that following his outstanding campaign with Huddersfield the previous season, Colwill is prepared for the first team.
The England midfielder said: “You can see with Levi the valuable experience he has gained by going out on loan.
“That’s something that I experienced, and for me, watching him when he trained with us before he went out, I could obviously tell he was a very good player, but he needed that experience.
“To go and play in the Championship and to get into a play-off final as I did, it’s a valuable experience that helps you so, so much.
“I think he has learned so much from that. He has grown as a player, grown as a person, and now I definitely think he feels that he can improve us and improve our team.
“He is going to get an opportunity to really step up, and he needs to keep working hard and keep working hard in training.”
