Forget Manchester United as €126million star wants Chelsea move

According to a report on Metro, Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix is keen on joining Chelsea on a permanent basis, despite interest from Manchester United.

The report adds: “The Portugal striker moved to Stamford Bridge in January on loan for the remainder of the season.

“The 23-year-old is Atletico’s record signing, having joined the Spaniards in a €126m deal from Benfica in 2019.

“Chelsea agreed to pay Atletico a fee of around £12m to sign Felix on loan for six months and the Portuguese has enjoyed his time in west London.

“Despite scoring just twice, his performance level has increased significantly since leaving the Spanish capital.

“Felix’s adaptation to the English game has been so impressive that he’s attracted interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, with Manchester United said to be keeping tabs on his situation.

“But AS say Felix is comfortable at Stamford Bridge and is hopeful that Chelsea will sign him on a permanent basis.

“Chelsea will not pay anywhere near the €126m Atletico paid four years ago but the Spaniards will push hard to recoup as much as they can.”
