Four key Manchester United players out injured ahead of Chelsea clash

The injury disaster for Manchester United continues as defenders Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez are expected to be sidelined for “at least a month.”

This is unfortunate for Manchester United, as the team is trying to strive for a top four finish.

After a protracted absence due to injury, Lisandro Martinez made his comeback during their 1-1 tie with Brentford.

Lindelof, who has started 19 of Manchester United’s 29 Premier League games this season, was substituted off with a hamstring injury during the 1-1 draw against Brentford.

The injury setbacks come at a crucial point of the season, with United hoping to climb up the Premier League table and win the FA Cup.

The experienced duo have now been ruled out for at least four weeks – which means they may not even feature again this season.

United boss Erik ten Hag is under pressure at Manchester United, as they visit Chelsea next.

United will be hoping to get a favourable result at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night, and close the gap on their top four rivals.

Ten Hag will be limited at the back, without the help of Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez, amid other injury problems in defence, as Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane are also on the sidelines.

Chelsea also do have injury issues of their own; so it’s a case of two big teams playing each other with a weakened squad.
