Frank Lampard and John Terry faced each other for the first time in managerial career

Derby County played against Aston Villa in Matchday 17 of the EFL Championship

The Rams lost to the Villans 0-3 as The Blues’ loanee Tammy Abraham scored the second goal of the match

Lampard’s side is currently fifth while Terry’s players are far away from the playoffs zone as Villa are 11th with 24 points

Derby County have recently played against Aston Villa as the game marked the first meeting between two Chelsea legends:

Frank Lampard and John Terry. While the former was appointed as The Rams’ head coach last May and has already managed to reach the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Manchester United, the latter took over The Villans as the assistant coach in October.

Frank Lampard’s side lost 0-3 to Villa. Chelsea’s loanee, 21-year-old Tammy Abraham scored his fifth goal of the season. Fikayo Tomori also took part in the match while Mason Mount was left out of the game due to the sustained leg injury.

Derby County are currently fifth in the Championship after 17 games which allows them to fight for the promotion to the Premier League.

The Villans, on the contrary, struggle this season as Dean Smith’s side is 11th in the league table.
