Frank Lampard receives ‘strong warning’ following 1-0 loss to Everton
Following Saturday’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Everton, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been warned the Blues face a crucial two months if he wants Chelsea to remain in the title race.
This is according to club legend Mario Melchiot, who made more than 150 appearances for Chelsea over five seasons.
Speaking to Stadium Astro after the loss at Goodison Park, the former midfielder said: “The team has to perform every time.
“There are new players in that team that don’t know the league but they’ll have to pick it up quickly.
“The games are coming so fast and, as [Sir Alex] Ferguson said, the league is always won in December and January.
“If you don’t do well in those two months and you start dropping points, that’s when it becomes difficult.”
