Frank Lampard plans to axe Cesar Azpilicueta from his starting eleven once Reece James recovers from injury, according to reports.

Chelsea are yet to really get going under Lampard, with the Blues manager sticking to his vision of a side filled with young stars.

Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount are starters under Lampard at the expense of the likes of Olivier Giroud and Willian, and club captain Azpilicueta is set to be the next senior star to drop to the bench.

The Daily Star claim Lampard will drop Azpilicueta once 19-year-old James is fit to play.
