Frank Lampard has reportedly urged the club’s hierarchy to finalise a deal for Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho at the earliest possibility.

The Brazilian is presently on loan at Bayern Munich from the Blaugrana but he is due to return to the Camp Nou this summer as the German side have no ambition of buying him.

According to Sport, Lampard is eager to land the services of Coutinho and he wants the Blues’ board to get into the finer details of the transfer of the playmaker.

The Catalan giants are said to demand around £80m for the 27-year-old but there are suggestions that the Blues may propose an initial loan agreement with the option to buy in the summer.

Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has recently acknowledged that the Brazilian would prefer a return to the Premier League when the transfer window reopens.

Apart from the Blues, north London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in the playmaker, who made previously made 152 appearances for Liverpool in the English top-flight.
