Freund and Potter “will focus on a new midfielders in 2023” because of them – Fabrizio Romano gives update on two key Chelsea players possible departure
Since the summer transfer window closed, all attention has been focused on building out the backroom staff and employing additional executives and specialists for the club’s various departments as Chelsea makes some significant plans at the moment.
Todd Boehly has been doing everything correctly, therefore he obviously needs assistance and to lose weight. Chelsea will try to hire more employees for a variety of positions, which will finally have them running smoothly with a top-notch hiring division.
While all of this is going on, preparations will also be made for the upcoming summer transfer window as well as the upcoming January transfer window. It’s common practice for clubs to plan and prepare in advance.
The problem with midfielders will be similar to that of defenders from the previous summer, since two important players, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho, will both be free agents by that time.
Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano believes Chelsea will focus on new midfielders in 2023.
On his latest Substack newsletter, Romano writes: “In my personal opinion, they need some energy and freshness in the midfield.
“It’s important to understand what’s gonna happen with Kante and Jorginho’s contracts; I think they will focus on a new midfielder in 2023.
“Now it will take some time to understand Freund and Potter’s priorities.”
