Full Chelsea squad for AC Milan clash revealed as key player faces fitness game
Chelsea will be aiming to defeat AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night in order to make it two victories in a row across all competitions. Graham Potter will be hopeful that his new team will continue in same vein against the Serie A giants after Conor Gallagher’s late curling effort secured the Blues a hard-fought three points at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Potter’s first triumph as the Blues’ head coach came against The Eagles. Since joining the club, the Englishman has coached Chelsea in just two competitive matches, but he doesn’t have a perfect record after drawing with Red Bull Salzburg at home last month. With a point in that match, Chelsea moved down to the bottom of Group E, while Milan is performing better in the Champions League.
The Rossoneri are in first place after a convincing victory over Dinamo Zagreb, but if Potter’s team can win on matchday three, they would tie the group leaders in points.
Following his return to training over the previous few days, Chelsea will be keeping an eye on N’Golo Kante’s health ahead of Wednesday. Therefore, it is anticipated that it will arrive for him too soon.
With that in mind, let’s look at the team that Potter has at his disposal for the highly anticipated matchup.
Goalkeepers: Edouard Mendy, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli.
Defenders: Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana, Malang Sarr, Trevoh Chalobah.
Midfielders: Jorginho, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Conor Gallagher, Denis Zakaria.
Forwards: Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
