The Blues are currently interested in signing Brazilian attacker Gabriel Barbosa who impressed while on loan at Flamengo from Inter Milan.

The 23 year old Brazilian scored 34 goals in 41 appearances while on loan at Flamengo.

According to Daily Express, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has made Gabriel Barbosa his top January transfer target.

However, Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte, who left Chelsea in 2018, is believed to be interested in securing a deal for France international Giroud.

The report claims Lampard wants to reduce pressure on Tammy Abraham by signing Barbosa, who has just ended a loan spell at Brazilian side Flamengo.

Barbosa, also known as Gabigol, reportedly caught the attention of Lampard after scoring both of Flamengo’s goals in the Copa Libertadores final earlier this season.

The report claims Lampard is still keen on signing Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho but has now made signing Barbosa a priority.
