GOOD NEWS: Chelsea finally submit bid for striker

Chelsea have submitted a loan bid for PSG striker Edison Cavani, According to The Times.

The Blues have offered to pay Cavani’s £360,000 per week contract, which means that he will be paid £7.2m until his contract expires in June. Chelsea also offered to pay a loan fee of £5 million for the 32 year old Uruguayan striker.

Cavani is keen on leaving PSG this January after falling down the pecking order at the club and he has submitted a transfer request as confirmed by PSG sporting director Leonardo.

The Blues might have to convince Cavani that a move to Stamford Bridge is the best for him after his father claimed the striker prefers a move to Atletico Madrid.

“He wants to join another club in Europe,” Cavani’s father said in an interview with Spanish television programme El Chiringuito. “That would please me that he plays here (at Atletico), yes. “(Diego) Simeone wants him now (in January). “The head coach of Paris Saint-Germain (Thomas Tuchel) has also said he needs him to help compete in the Champions League.

“But PSG do not want him to go to Atletico Madrid if he finds an agreement.

“I think there is a strong chance he will go to Atletico, the option to join the club (Atletico) always remains in June. “There are lots of other clubs but when you give your word to a team, you respect it. If tomorrow, if he is available and Atletico still want him, I think he will sign. “He is a player who needs time to play and today, he only plays four or six minutes per game. PSG are treating him unfairly.”
