Good News: Chelsea receive positive injury boost on goalscorer

The Blues had a positive day on Sunday, winning 4-0 to follow up an FA Cup victory in the week, as well as giving top flight debuts to three academy players.

One minor sour note was the departure of Mason Mount, scorer of the opening goal, in the second half.

He limped around for a while attempting to play on, before eventually succumbing and being replaced.

It was the last thing this team needs given the ongoing injury issues, so we were delighted to read today on Goal.com that the problem isn’t severe.

“I took a little knock in the back of my knee,” the England star said.

“It was precautionary to see how it was. But now, I feel fine and hopefully in the next couple of days I will get treatment and it will be fine.”

It sounds very positive, and younger players are always more capable of running off knocks like that. Thankfully, we have a full week off now until we take on Aston Villa in Saturday’s late game.
