With one signing already announced, that of the Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech, the club could soon be ready to announce they’ve made another signing.
Speculation has been rife that Chelsea are in the market for a goalkeeper, a subject you may have noticed we’ve covered on several occasion if you are a regular visitor to our site.
But while Chelsea are indeed, if you believe the transfer speculation, looking for another keeper, this second signing is somebody who plays between the sticks.
It is being reported by The Sun that Chelsea have been impressed by the 17-year-old Hartlepool keeper Brad Young.
Young has been on trial at Chelsea for the last two weeks and it would appear the club have liked what they have seen, and a provisional fee has already been agreed with his current club, Hartlepool.
While this signing may not be what many might call a ‘big-signing’ perhaps we should point out that when the club signed Billy Gilmour, from Glasgow Rangers, many supporters may not have paid that deal the attention it deserved and look at young Billy now!
Perhaps, in a couple of years, we could be, if the deal goes through, seeing Brad Young making the same kind of impact.
You just never know!
