Chelsea have receive a huge boost in pursuit of the PSG striker Edinson Cavani following Atletico response this afternoon.
However, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has denied that there is an agreement between the Spanish club and PSG striker Edinson Cavani who is reportedly targeted by Chelsea as well.
“There is absolutely nothing with the player,” Cerezo said as quoted by Spanish media outlet AS.
“We need to score goals and we have great goalscorer, but what we are missing now is a bit of luck and we are not taking our chances.
Transfers are always complicated but at the moment there is nothing.”
Cerezo’s claim does not rule out that a deal will be finalised at the end, despite Chelsea’s reported attempt to snap the Uruguayan up on loan.
As per Marca, the striker’s agent has already arrived in Madrid to help agree the personal terms, although PSG are yet to accept Atletico’s offer.
