Huge transfer blow for Lampard as transfer target set to turn down Chelsea offer

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard set to face huge transfer blow as the Blues set to lose the  Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani to Atletico.

According to The Sun, Cavani is set to turn down a move to Chelsea in favour of joining Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

The Uruguayan’s brother and agent has jetted to the Spanish capital to hold further talks with the club as he haggles over a potential wage packet.

Cavani is keen on leaving PSG this month after falling down the pecking order. He was also left out of Sunday’s victory over Lille, fuelling speculation that his move away from Ligue 1 was edging closer.

The report claims Cavani could be unveiled as an Atletico Madrid player before Friday ahead of the Madrid derby with Real on Saturday.

However, report claims Chelsea have also been linked to several strikers and the possible deal we knew that can come through within the remaining days, maybe Luka Jovic Madrid open the door for the striker to leave on loan.
