“He has the leadership qualities to control those Chelsea kids”: William Gallas urges Chelsea to sign these two world class Man United players
William Gallas, a former Chelsea defender, believes that the Blues will gain by adding a few Man United players to their roster for the upcoming campaign.
Speaking to the Gambling Zone, he said: “Both Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes could be good options for Chelsea. Both are quality players. Bruno could definitely be the kind of midfielder who has the quality to play in the number ten role where Chelsea lack strength.
“Chelsea are a team of young players and Bruno Fernandes has the leadership qualities to get through certain periods. He’d be a good signing if the rumours are true.”
There’s no knowing what ‘rumours’ Gallas is pointing at here because there haven’t really been any reliable links of Chelsea planning to make a move for either Fernandes or Rashford in the summer window.
The Blues do share a healthy working relationship with Man United, having sold them Mason Mount last summer. But the last time that a Man United player joined Chelsea was way back in 1992 in defender Mal Donaghy – who spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge.
But with both Bruno and Rashford on long-term contracts at Old Trafford and Chelsea not needing their profile of players anytime soon – it’s unlikely that Mauricio Pochettino will push for either of them.
