‘He plays like Kaka, he’s a baller’, ‘Chelsea why’ : Rio Ferdinand can’t believe Chelsea allowed ‘fantastic’ player to leave the club

Rio Ferdinand cannot believe Chelsea did not do more to keep hold of Jamal Musiala.

Jamal Musiala left Chelsea for Bayern Munich back in 2019, where he has developed into an incredible player, and Ferdinand has told Rising Ballers that he does not know how the Blues allowed him to leave the club.

The 20-year-old, who is already a full Germany international, was in superb form for Bayern last season.

In 33 Bundesliga appearances, he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists to help his side clinch the title ahead of rivals Borussia Dortmund.

When you consider all of the above, there must be a lot of regret at Chelsea.

Ferdinand does not understand how Chelsea let Musiala slip out of their grasp and has compared the Bayern star to Brazil legend Kaka.

The former Manchester United defender said: “How England let him go, how Chelsea let him go, I don’t know. This kid is a mad talent. He reminds me of Kaka. It’s hard to say this, but he seems like he’s even more silkier.”

Everyone talks about how Chelsea letting the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah go were huge mistakes, but Musiala, who has been described as “fantastic” by Harry Kane, is easily up there as well.

In their defence, they did try to keep him. But in the end, they could not convince him to stay.

According to an old report from Sky Sports, Musiala turned down a long-term offer from Chelsea before joining Bayern.

Could the Blues have done more? It is hard to know. It is clear to see, though, that they lost an extremely talented player.

And with it not being easy to break into the Chelsea first team because of how many signings the club tend to make each year, they could lose more of their academy products in the near future.
