‘He should be Chelsea star man’ – Shaun Wright-Phillips believes Chelsea have finally found a missing piece
Former Chelsea winger, Shaun Wright-Phillips has said he believes that Cole Palmer has the potential to become Chelsea’s star man in the future.
Palmer joined the Blues for £42.5m over the summer, and has become an instant hit at Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old has played every game for Chelsea since his arrival, picking up three goals and three assists in the process.
Palmer again, put his wonderful talent on display on Monday when he helped his side to a 4-1 win against Manchester City, getting a goal and an assist in the game, as Chelsea moved up to 10th on the table.
The former City attacker has been drawing accolades for his consistent displays since he joined the Blues, and now, Wright-Phillips is confident he will continue to grow and become better.
“He’s got the ability to be Chelsea’s star man because he’s very calm on the ball,” Wright-Phillips said while speaking to LiveScore.
“He can slow the game down and look for that extra pass. I think he’s a brilliant player.
“He seems to be putting himself around. And when he gets in and around that final third, he’s looking for the right passes or to get that shot off and I think that’s something Chelsea have missed.
“When he signed it was at a time where Chelsea were going through a lot of turmoil. But he seems to have come through it pretty well and he’s started the season well.”
