Declan Rice has got Chelsea fans excited by admitting he would love to partner up with childhood friend Mason Mount at club level.
The whole world may be gripped by the crazy outbreak of the coronavirus, and football may have been stopped because of the Virus itself, but there has still been alot of transfer speculation in the media about possible summer signings at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard is not fool, he knows that he needs to seriously improve this side over the next few transfer windows in order to get the club from top four chasers, to Premier League contenders, and he needs to add some fresh meat to the side.
Now recent claims Lampard is on the hunt for a defensive midfielder this summer and has identified Rice as the ideal man to come in and possibly take over from Ngolo Kante in the long-run, who is arguably the best holding midfielder in the game.
Rice spent eight years coming up through the Blues’ academy and remains best pals with Mason Mount, But he was released in 2014 and ended up with rivals West Ham, where he has developed into one of the brightest talents in the Premier League.
His performances for the Hammers has meant that he is not an England regular, and is being chased by the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, who are also in the hunt for a holding midfielder in the summer. Now fans have got excited after Rice opened up and admitted that he is keen to work with Mount at club level again, He told Copa90: “Yeah I’d love to, I’d love to play with him at club level again.
“One thing we’ve always said as kid we’d love to play with each other at club and international level “But obviously you never know because of different paths and things like that.” Rice has been linked with a move to Chelsea, but is he really worth the £80 million that he is valued at?
