“He’s an amazing player” “I want him at Arsenal” – Kai Havertz name one ex-Chelsea team-mate he wants at Arsenal

Kai Havertz is enjoying a new lease of life after swapping Chelsea for Arsenal last summer and he was recently asked if there are any other players he wants to make the jump to the Emirates.

Havertz has enjoyed an impressive debut season so far, scoring 13 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions after initially struggling to make an impact. He previously spent three years at Chelsea, having joined the Blues from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020.

Despite memorably scoring the winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final, Havertz failed to fulfil his potential at Stamford Bridge. And in an interview with Chinese streaming service iQIYI, he was asked if he would like any of his former Chelsea teammates to join him at Arsenal.

“I don’t even know, I think we have everyone here,” he replied. “I’m happy with the squad.” Havertz was then asked if Joao Felix, who spent six months on loan at Chelsea last season, would be a welcome addition for Arsenal and admitted he would be a “quality” signing.

“He’s an amazing player, a quality player for sure,” Havertz added. “But yeah, I have to say that I’m happy with the squad.”

And Havertz is hopeful Arsenal can win the Premier League this season, with the Gunners currently one point clear of defending champions Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side do have a game in hand, but Havertz is relishing the added pressure a title race brings.

“I really enjoy every second,” he said. “Sometimes I feel like I don’t even want to have a day off because you’re just so excited for the weekend and really want to work with the team, try to get everything out of us to be better prepared and we do that every single day.

“It’s going to be two tough games. We have a lot to play for, we have to win those games and then see where we’re going to go. Right now, though, the mood is good but we’re going to prepare now for the big game this week against Manchester United and hopefully win that as well.

“We feel the pressure as we need to win the last games. Then when you don’t score, and it gets closer to half-time, obviously the nerves are coming but we tried to leave them behind us, and thanks to Bukayo for scoring his goal and making it a bit easier for us.”
