‘He’s one of Chelsea’s best signings, he’s a miracle worker’ — Tony Cascarino hails Chelsea player
Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was man of the match at Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday evening after his stunning performances as the Blues takes all 3 points against the Bees
However, Mendy was in top form in that game as the Blues suffered all manner of assaults from the Brentford attack in the final 20 minutes of the game.
The Chelsea goalkeeper kept making save after save to keep his side in the game and ended up with a very impressive clean sheet.
Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has hailed Mendy’s performance as a miracle.
“Chelsea dug deep. Had a goalkeeper that performed miracles and you could argue that he’s been one of Chelsea’s best ever signings. Tony told talkSPORT:
“He cost £17million from Rennes, came in and seemed to breeze into the team. Showed no signs of concerns of nerves.
“Yesterday was a day that made you think, ‘Wow’.
“Whoever made the decision, I suspect it was Petr Cech because he was at Rennes as a goalkeeper and will know a lot of people at that football club, and was probably pivotal in that move to get him for Chelsea.”
