He’s ready to return to Chelsea – Journalist confirms public figure man Chelsea fans loved could return to Stamford Bridge
At Stamford Bridge, Mauricio Pochettino is allegedly walking on a tightrope.
Despite spending a lot of money on new players, Chelsea is currently in mid-table, so Pochettino’s tenure there has been characterized by relative inconsistencies.
Should the Argentine manager be fired in the future, a number of names have been connected to the Chelsea managing position.
According to journalist Massimo Ugolini on Canale 8, Antonio Conte is one of the candidates the Chelsea board is thinking about hiring. Bianconera News has confirmed this.
Back in 2017, Antonio Conte guided the Blues to their final Premier League title. Chelsea has not had Premier League success since Roman Abramovich fired the Italian.
Conte indeed won the hearts of the Stamford Bridge faithful with his passion and commitment. He was a constant live wire on the touchline.
The Italian has been without a job since leaving Tottenham, and while there has been a lot of talk of him taking over from Max Allegri at Juventus, Ugolini reckons the Chelsea dugout could be his next step.
He said: “He could even return to Chelsea. He would be welcomed back with great enthusiasm.
“Watch out for Juventus too. In this spending-review phase, it’s not as if they couldn’t afford him.”
