“He’s really getting on my nerves”- John Terry is not pleased with 27-year-old who had the option to sign with Chelsea in the summer

One player who was previously on the club’s transfer radar has not pleased Chelsea legend, John Terry. He expressed on Twitter, his lack of admiration for Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana’s performance in their thrilling victory yesterday.

Chelsea no longer had either of their goalkeeping options from the previous season. Therefore, they undoubtedly looked to address the goalkeeper issues head-on last summer. Onana was one player they definitely took into consideration to replace players like Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga, as both left the club at the end of the previous campaign.

Chelsea, hwoever, failed to turn their curiosity into a serious bid for the Cameroonian international. Some fans will undoubtedly be happy that they didn’t. The 27-year-old’s debut season in English football hasn’t exactly made headlines around the globe.

CHELSEA LEGEND TERRY IS NOT PLEASED WITH ONANA

Onana received a lot of the ball in his team’s away victory over Villa yesterday, as they attempted to build from behind. This was a method of playing that frustrated Terry. He is not happy because of how slow the game had become.

He said: “Onana is getting on my nerves, slowing the game down and then keeps giving it away. Catch it and stay in your box!”

Chelsea seem to finally be coming out the other end of what has been a pretty miserable 18 months as far as goalkeepers are concerned. Robert Sanchez’s absence has given Djordje Petrovic the chance to perform. Petrovic has performing at a level that will undoubtedly keep him in the starting lineup for the upcoming weeks. Even though his kicking hasn’t always been flawless, the 24-year-old has made a number of outstanding saves this season at Stamford Bridge that have occasionally kept Chelsea in games.

Terry’s disappointment is evident, however, a lot of Blues fans would be glad that the club didn’t secure the services of the current Manchester United goalkeeper, on comparing his performance to Petrovic’s, despite the Cameroonian finding some form lately.
