The Blues boss will head into the transfer window armed with a whopping £150million to spend on new players. Chelsea got the ball rolling when they reached an agreement for Hakim Ziyech, 27, to join them in the summer from Ajax. However, The £37million signing, who has 13 assists and six goals in the Eredivisie this season, is expected to slot straight into the starting XI.
And the Blues are the key favourites to bring ex-Liverpool star Coutinho back to the Premier League. He is currently on a season-long loan with Bayern Munich, but the German club are not expected to sign him permanently.
Coutinho has failed to live up to expectations since his incredible £142million from Liverpool back in 2018. And Lampard is hopeful that he can reignite the 27-year-old’s career at Stamford Bridge.
Moussa Dembele is another top target for Chelsea, but he has also attracted interest from Manchester United. The Lyon striker, 23, has proved his potential with 16 goals in 27 top-flight games this season.
Tammy Abraham has led the line for Chelsea this season, but Lampard is in need of attacking reinforcements. Olivier Giroud’s contract is set to expire in June and Michy Batshuayi has failed to prove he is worthy of a first-team spot.
As well as signing a new striker, Lampard is keen to bring in a new face at the other end of the pitch. Kepa Arrizabalaga has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge as he has made a number of costly mistakes. The Spaniard, 25, has only managed to keep six clean sheets in 25 Premier League this term.
Lampard is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper – and AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, 21, has emerged as an option. The 21-year-old, who has also been linked to Everton, is said to be studying English amid interest from the Premier League.
In defence, Lampard has made Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell his top target. Should their move for the 23-year-old collapse, the Blues are set to swoop for Barcelona’s Marc Cucurella.
