Huge blow For Lampard as Chelsea coach leaves club

Newton will reunite with former Chelsea players John Mikel Obi and Daniel Sturridge, who he worked with at Chelsea, at the Turkish club.

Newton was Roberto Di Matteo’s assistant when Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012 and was also Guus Hiddink’s assistant.

He is now set to act as Huseyin Cimsir’s assistant at Trabzonspor.

Newton played at Stamford Bridge as a midfielder from 1992 to 1999, featuring alongside Gianfranco Zola and Ruud Gullit.

He was also loan player technical coach between 2016 and 2019 – checking in with stars such as Tammy Abraham, Andreas Christensen and Reece James as they developed away from West London side.

We wish him good luck in the Future!
