Loan Chelsea Jeremie Boga has established himself as a key player at Sassuolo, scoring a goal in a 2-2 draw away at Juventus on Sunday.
Quizzed about his Chelsea future, the on-loan midfielder told Foot Mercato: “Everything in its time. It certainly was not the time for me to play Chelsea.
“I always keep it in a corner of my mind. If I continue to do what I do, work hard, maybe I’ll go back one day.”
The Ivorian has been involved in five goals (four strikes, one assist) in his last seven Serie A games for Sassuolo as Roberto De Zerbi’s side sit 14th in the table after 13 games.
The 22-year-old is impressed by the Blues’ progress this season, but the emergence of Tammy Abraham doesn’t surprise him.
Boga added: “For those who do not know him, it’s impressive what he does. I’ve known him since we were little, we are of the same generation 97 in Chelsea. I know his potential.
“He has always been a scorer, scoring 20 to 25 goals per season in all categories of youth. So what he does today does not surprise me. I am very happy for him.”
