“I have nothing to envy about him” “I can leave Chelsea after a year” – Chelsea player could leave despite signing six-year deal with Chelsea

David Datro Fofana, a striker for Chelsea, may be departing the team after just a year.

David Fofana was signed by Chelsea in January 2023 for a six-year contract that would expire in 2029 with a one-year option.

He played for both Burnley and Union Berlin during the previous season, making 15 Premier League appearances for Burnley and scored four goals.

Based on his recent success, Chelsea sees possibility for offers. In order to sign a new striker to rival Nicolas Jackson, the team is also trying to sell Armando Broja.

Fofana had thought he would challenge for a spot on the Chelsea roster the following year. The Athletic, however, asserts that Chelsea intends to trade the 21-year-old

“I haven’t thought about it yet,” the Ivorian told Capital Football when asked about his plans at Chelsea.

“I think I’ll go back and why not do the pre-season with Chelsea? [In January], I wanted to stay but some things happened… but for sure I have nothing to envy Nicolas Jackson, who is [also] my friend.”
