‘I said it in midweek’: Mason Mount finally reveals why he was frustrated before scoring 3goals against Norwich
Chelsea star Mason Mount score 3 goals against Norwich as Chelsea beats Norwich 7-0 on Match Week 9.
However, Hattrick man Mason Mount has revealed why he was so desperate to score goals.
Speaking to the BBC after his hattrick, Mount said: “It’s a special day, not just for me but because of the scoreline and the way we played.
“These early kick-offs can be very difficult at times. There’s not much time to recover, but the performance we put in and with me getting a hat-trick – it was a special day.
“A lot of the boys have scored this season. I said in midweek it was about time to get on the scoresheet, and today was obviously the day. I was fortunate today.
“I just got told [Gareth Southgate] was watching. It’s brilliant for me and obviously to get my first goals of the season and an assist, it was a good day.”
Mount had been struggling in front of goal a little this season, so it was good to see him explode like he did against Norwich.
Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come as adding consistent end-product would make the midfielder one of the best in the world.
