‘I think he will fit to play for Chelsea’: Darren Bent urges Chelsea to sign 86-goals striker in coming days

Darren Bent has urged Chelsea to make a move for Newcastle striker, Callum Wilson.

Bent believes that the 31-year-old would make a good addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s side due to his ability to score goals.

Chelsea are in need of a striker, and Wilson is the latest name they’re being linked with in this January transfer window alone. West Ham United have also reportedly registered an interest in him.

The Magpies are rumoured to be demanding at least £18m before they sell the player, who is currently injured.

“I really like Callum Wilson. Big fan of his… Whenever he seems to play, always seems to score,” Bent told talkSPORT.

“I think he would fit well for both club (Chelsea and West Ham).”

Bent then added: “If either side can get him, I think it works really well. I don’t know why I’m leaning more towards West Ham, maybe because of where they are… Both clubs he’s going to start. If he goes to West Ham he will start. If he goes to Chelsea he will start.”

Wilson has scored 86 times in 215 Premier league games, which is a decent return for a striker. Our only challenge with him is that he seems to be injury-prone and 31 – and that’s not something Chelsea want to be dealing with now, considering they already have too much on their hands in that regard.
