‘I told him about it – Drogba finally reveals what he told Tuchel before Club World Cup victory
Chelsea beat Palmeiras 2-1 as the Blues win the Club World Cup for the first time, However, The Blues legend Didier Drogba has revealed he told Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel before Chelsea’s victory over Palmeiras that the Club World Cup title was the only title missing for the Blues.
“I told the boss [Thomas Tuchel] that this [Club World Cup] was the only trophy missing. Congrats to the players for the performance.” Drogba said.
Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Kai Havertz secured a 2-1 victory for Chelsea over Palmeiras in the Club World Cup final on Saturday.
Drogba added: “Winning the Champions League, now being World Champions… it’s a lot. I always see basketball teams say they are World Champions. Today, Chelsea is a World Champion. What an achievement.”
Drogba also admitted he was tensed watching the game against Palmeiras.
He said: “It’s tense! Difficult. I’m moving, heading the ball. I prefer to be on the pitch.”
