‘I want him, don’t sell him’: Pochettino says 20-year-old Chelsea star shouldn’t be sold, new deal could happen – journalist

Mauricio Pochettino is insisting that Levi Colwill is the future at Chelsea.

That is according to well-respected journalist Simon Phillips.

Levi Colwill, who’s just 20, is a rising talent to come out of Chelsea’s academy at Cobham.

The young defender is currently with England’s senior squad, and it’s been confirmed he’s travelling with them for tomorrow’s European Championship qualifier against Malta.

While he enjoys his first taste of England’s main camp, there’s a lot of talk in the media about where his future lies.

Simon Phillips has explained on his Substack he’s heard some positive Chelsea news from sources this week about Colwill’s future.

He claims that “Pochettino is adamant” the 20-year-old centre-back has a massive future at Stamford Bridge, something that the club agrees with.

In addition, Colwill’s party are biding their time when it comes to sorting his next move, but they’re open to the idea of staying with the Blues and even signing a new deal.

Phillips mentions that Chelsea have scheduled more talks with the youngster and are already sat waiting with a good offer to make.

The Evening Standard has recently claimed that Brighton are lining up a £40million bid for Colwill after seeing their initial £30million offer turned down by Chelsea.

The talented centre-half spent last season out on loan with Premier League side Brighton, which proved to be a very useful deal for all parties involved.

We’re not too surprised the Seagulls want the left-footed defender back at the Amex Stadium next season on a permanent basis, but there’s no way we should entertain any idea of a potential sale.
