“I want to leave Chelsea this summer” “Enough of lack of playing games”- €40m Chelsea star tells club he wants to leave Chelsea this summer

According to sources, Ian Maatsen, a great player for Chelsea, has informed the team that he wants to sign a permanent contract with Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The left-back is believed to be desperate to stay at the Westfalenstadion after joining Dortmund on loan during the January transfer window.

This week, Maatsen scored his first-ever Champions League goal to help Dortmund advance to the semi-finals. Blues supporters are pleading with Chelsea not to let him go.

Speaking after the match, Maatsen said he was intent on becoming a regular at Chelsea before his loan move to Bundesliga giants Dortmund.

Things have now changed, though, and Maatsen now wants to sign for Dortmund permanently with the Dutchman ‘very comfortable’ at his loan club.

That’s according to fresh reports in Germany which have claimed that Maatsen has a release clause of €35-40m.

Maatsen spent last season on loan at Burnley, helping Vincent Kompany’s side secure a league title as he was named in the Championship Team of the Season.

Chelsea wanted to sell Maatsen last summer and even accepted a £31.5m bid from Burnley before he snubbed a permanent switch to Turf Moor.

The west Londoners were again open to a sale in January but Maatsen ended up moving to Dortmund on loan.

Maatsen, who has made 17 appearances for Dortmund to date, looks finally set to move on at the end of the season should a deal be agreed with Chelsea.

‘I always believed [I could] play for Chelsea but unfortunately for some reason it didn’t work out how it should’ve,’ Maatsen told CBS Sports this week.

‘Now I’m here I’m very grateful for the opportunity. I can say I’m very proud of myself.

‘I kept believing in myself and came here to experience playing my game at the highest level, playing my game. Today I think I showed a very good performance. I’m very happy.’
