’I wasn’t happy’ — Tuchel reveals one thing that makes him sad in 3-0 victory against Spurs
It was indeed a game of two halves at the Tottenham Stadium, as Spurs were the better team in the first half but Chelsea took total control of the game in the second half.
Tuchel made a tough decision at half-time as he took off Mason Mount and brought in N’Golo Kante. The change was a stroke of genius as Chelsea bossed proceeding in the second half.
Explaining his decision after the game, Tuchel reveals he wasn’t pleased with the team’s first half performance as Chelsea lacked intensity.
“It was a hard decision for Mason and it seemed to be a bit more defensive to go from Mason to N’Golo,” Tuchel told Sky Sports.
“But I wanted to give the sign from the talk (at half-time) I was not happy with the energy.
“For me it was about winning the second balls, about duels, about sending signals to let the confidence grow through energy and ball wins, by a higher work rate and by closing players down and not being too reactive.”
