I would loved to help Chelsea this January – Player tells Tuchel Chelsea
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is really facing a left-back issue at the moment, as the Blues boss really keen on having a backup for Ben Chilwell.
However, the Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has been ruled out until the end of the season following an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and his deputy Marcos Alonso has been the one manning the position since then.
Surprisingly, Alonso has been unable to replicate his early season form since the injury to Chilwell, and the Spaniard has been dropped at times by Tuchel.
Tuchel had planned to recall Emerson Palmieri from his loan deal with Lyon, but the French club opted against sending him back to Chelsea, despite the reported £3m offer from the club.
Reports have it that Lyon manager Peter Bosz, had insisted that Emerson won’t be returning to Chelsea, but reports also claim that the Italy international would have preferred to return to Chelsea, even though he’s having a good time in France.
Chelsea have since recalled Kenedy from loan, but it is Emerson that the German would have loved to see return — a player he has said in the past has ‘special qualities’.
