“If he gets the call from Chelsea he will jump to it” – Ashley Cole thinks ‘world-class’ manager will replace Pochettino at Chelsea

“If he gets the call from Chelsea he will jump to it” – Ashley Cole thinks ‘world-class’ manager will replace Pochettino at Chelsea

Former Chelsea star Ashely Cole has now claimed that he thinks one manager would absolutely jump at the chance to become the boss at Chelsea.

He told TalkSport that he believes Jose Mourinho’s existing relations with the club will see him find it impossible to turn down a return if the offer came up.

The future of current manager Mauricio Pochettino has been a topic of conversation in the last 24 hours following an embarrassing result yesterday.

Chelsea were beaten 4-2 at home by Wolves, their opponents first win at Stamford Bridge for more than 40 years.

The result seemed to be a turning point for match-going fans, who made their feelings known towards the team following their performance.

Pochettino in particular took the brunt of some of the anger inside the stadium, with discussion not taking long to come up in the fanbase regarding his future.

COLE says Mourinho would take Chelsea job

Some reports have already claimed that a loss next time out for the Blues could well be the end of the Argentine.

In terms of a potential replacement, Mourinho is a candidate who has been popular among supporters in particular.

Pardew has now claimed that if an offer from the club came in for the Portuguese boss, he would absolutely take his place in the hotseat again.

He said: “Listen, Jose Mourinho won’t care about [the issues]. If he gets the phone call [from Chelsea], he’ll be walking back in.”

Mourinho already has two stints in West London to his name, with him winning the Premier League at least once in both of those times.

However, it would certainly be fair to say that his recent managerial appointments have not been as successful as the teams will have been expecting, in comparison to his ‘world-class’ spells before.

There may also be some supporters who will not be able to look past the fact that he has managed at Manchester United and Tottenham now as well.
