Chelsea’s recent rapid success has come under scrutiny as the Blues defeat Spurs and West Ham in the Premier League, winning both games handily.
Pochettino, it was stated, has the backing of the players in the dressing room, who are willing to support him and want him to stay.
Benoit Badiashile, Marc Cucurella, and Noni Madekue have all come out to endorse Pochettino in the last week.
“Of course, of course. The team is behind him,” Benoit Badiashile told the Evening Standard when asked if he and his teammates want Mauricio Pochettino to stay at Chelsea.
“The coach has made us confident with this setup. It is helping us a lot, and we have to continue like this. I think you can see it from this game [West Ham], we played a great game and we trust him.”
Chelsea demolished West Ham 5-0 just a few days after beating Tottenham 2-0. The results allowed the Blues to overtake Man United in the Premier League table.
Pochettino has used a hybrid formation in the latest games. Chelsea use a back-four in possession and it transforms into a back-three when the opposition attacks. It has improved the Blues’ defensive solidity.
Badiashile has been one of the most improved players in a new formation. He said about his form: “I think my confidence is higher now. I feel like my teammates and the coach trust in me. It helps me a lot.”
