“It will be better if u just start him against West Ham” – Chris Sutton begs Pochettino to start Chelsea star against West Ham

Chris Sutton has urged Mauricio Pochettino to put Moises Caicedo straight into the Chelsea line-up this weekend.

The Blues are currently preparing for Sunday afternoon’s Premier League trip to West Ham, where they’ll be looking to build on the draw against Liverpool on the opening day.

Moises Caicedo, 21, completed his move from Brighton to Stamford Bridge earlier this week

Will we see the midfielder handed a club debut at West Ham, though?

BBC pundit Sutton wants to see Pochettino throw Caicedo straight into the Chelsea XI in a couple of days time.

“Chelsea were very good in the second half against Liverpool last weekend and they will be even better if Moises Caicedo goes straight into their team, to partner Enzo Fernandez in the centre of midfield,” Sutton told BBC Sport.

Pochettino explained in Friday’s press conference that he’s still not made a decision on Caicedo’s availability for the weekend, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The fact that he didn’t rule the Ecuador international out of the fixture makes us think he’ll be in the matchday squad at a minimum. Hopefully, straight into the starting team as well.

Described as a “serious signing” for Chelsea by Michael Owen (Premier League productions), Caicedo is the summer addition that should excite the supporters most.

He’s such an aggressive and energetic midfielder that is reminiscent of N’Golo Kante when he’s in full flow. However, it’ll now be dealing with a different kind of pressure that comes with wearing a Chelsea badge every game.
