‘It’s clearly something is wrong between them’ — Report claims Tuchel made huge mistake in selling Chelsea star
Former Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson believes that the Blues made a mistake in the sale of Kurt Zouma this summer.
Chelsea didn’t sign a replacement for Zouma who had moved to West Ham, as the Blues failed in an attempt to sign up Jules Kounde from Sevilla.
Paul Merson had said that the sale of an important player like Zouma was a mistake, and Glen Johnson shares the same sentiment and wondered if there was a rift between the two.
“As a West Ham guy, I’m delighted that they’ve signed him and I think it’s a great deal,” said Johnson who played for West Ham and Chelsea during his career.
“He’s a good player, a young player and is super athletic. He’s a bubbly guy too so I reckon the West Ham lads would be really happy to have him with them.
“From a Chelsea perspective, I’m surprised they’ve sold him.
“There clearly must be something between him and Thomas Tuchel because otherwise they wouldn’t have let him go, even though I don’t know that personally.
“He’s a very good player and for him to turn up at West Ham is ideal for the Hammers.”
